Comfort Suites San Clemente

The hotel location was perfect for our family as we spent Christmas holiday with my wife's family in San Clemente. I didn't know it at the time but when I booked the hotel I was going for good reviews and a great price. The reviews were good and raving about the nice daily breakfast bar area. The plus was that the hotel was actually only 2 minutes from the in-laws house! The room was clean and adequate for our family, and the staff was very friendly and enjoyable. This hotel was inexpensive through Priceline. The continental breakfast was outstanding, with food choices including a fresh waffle maker, cooked omelets, bacon, sausage, orange juice, toast, bagels, and cold cereals. It's understandable that the hotel is now non-smoking, but realize that some of the old smoking hotel rooms were converted. So that old smoke smell is still very apparent. But it is the closest hotel to the Trestles surf spot and sufficient for what we were there for. It's a short hike down over the highway and to the beach. Outside many of the hotel suites, you'll see wet suits and rash guards hanging to dry. It's easily a good place to stay if you are here for the beach. ...read more

The hotel was in a desirable location and was fine for a place to sleep. It wasn't a hotel that you want to spend your whole day in.

Nice hotel, perfect location, awesome hot breakfast, very clean, service was great. The only downside was that it's just a little older but well kept.

This hotel was good a one nighter. I could not stayed longer than that with the bed being so hard.

There was a problem in that the air conditioning unit sent all cool air up into the curtain and not into the room, the curtain was too long and didn't allow the cool air out, I was quite frustrated by that since it was hot and humid in the room and left me feeling uncomfortable the entire night. ...read more
